Melissa Hom is a food, restaurant, interior, and portrait photographer born and raised in New York City. She was named New York Magazine’s first staff photographer in its 40-plus year history in 2006. She is known to add fresh, original visuals to the magazine and website, which receives over 1.1 million viewers monthly.

Ms. Hom also works as an independent photographer and is available for artistic, commercial, and documentary-style photo projects. She has received honorable mentions from the International Photography Awards in 2009 and 2008. Her client list ranges from Blender to Glamour, GQ to National Geographic, Moët Hennessey to Pearson Education, TV Guide to Wine Spectator, Playboy to New York Times, and many more.

She is a graduate of New York University with a Journalism degree and is self-taught in photography. Curiosity is her greatest motivator and her passions are people, moments, ideas, flavors, and the paths to capturing them.
